It’s a wrap!!!
The Shamrock 555 5th Anniversary Golf Event was a resounding success and our best yet!
We were again blessed with beautiful weather, an early sell-out for golfers, and a full complement of guests who joined us to enjoy the cocktail hour, raffles and the evening of entertainment provided by the creative talents of Dave Santia. As is always the case, the highlight is what we can do as a result of your attendance and your dedicated support to Shamrock 555 and our mission as clearly outlined by SLP “to help the youth and underserved in the city of Detroit”.
We should ALL be very proud of the accomplishments these busy and active five years have brought, as evidenced by the fact that by the close of 2023, we will have awarded $555,000 to Stephen’s causes.
For this year’s Event, we were thrilled to present Awards to:
Mosaic Youth Theatre – 2-$10,000 Awards for College Scholarships
Downtown Boxing Gym –2-$10,000 Awards for College Scholarships
The New Day Foundation–$10,000-Financial Support for Cancer Patients
Ascension Hospital-$25,000 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
We also presented an Award to The Assistance League again this year to fund the “2nd SLP Operation School Bell” on October 18th at Carver Elementary School. A most gratifying event where we put smiles on the faces of 400 plus Detroit students by clothing them for the start of the new school year!
We may not have opportunities to say this enough, but hope you
ALL know that without your unfailing support and generous hearts, we couldn’t possibly do the things we do in SLP’s name – a true labor of love by ALL!
So again this year, an enormous thank you from the Board to all our Sponsors and golfers. Guests and amazing volunteers for the part you played in making this year’s Event such an amazing success!
